The 20th Annual Run The Quay!
Our LIVE race schedule in Downtown Fuquay-Varina is:
- Thursday May 30, 11 am - 1 pm: Drive-Thru Packet Pickup. Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce @ 121 N. Main St.,
- Friday May 31, 4 - 7 pm: Packet Pickup. Fuquay-Varina Presbyterian Church, Fellowship Hall Grounds @ 309 N. Ennis Street, Fuquay-Varina, NC 27526
- Race Day: Saturday June1:
- 6:00 - 8:15 AM: Race Day Check-In for those who did not attend either advanced packet pickup. (NO race day registration)
- 7:00 am - 10K Race Start
- 8:15 am - 10K course closes. Remaining runners moved to sidewalks.
- 8:30 am - 5K Race Start
- 9:15 am - 10K Awards, 5K Awards, Challenge Awards.
- 9:30 am (or end of awards) - Kids Fun Run (100 yard dash and 1 mile)
- 10:00 am - 5K course closes.

- Jan 1st - 7th - Special $20 Early Bird registration price for all distances!
- Jan 8th - May 3rd:
- $30 for the 5K or Virtual 5K
- $40 for the 10K or Virtual 10K
- $50 for the 15 Quay Challenge or Virtual 5K + 10K
- April 15th: Tentative last day to reserve finisher medal(s) with registration. (Date subject to change. Race shirt cutoff TBD.)
- May 4th - May 31:
- $35 for the 5K or Virtual 5K
- $45 for the 10K or Virtual 10K
- $55 for the 15 Quay Challenge or Virtual 5K + 10K
Please note, registration for ALL races (including virtual) closes on Friday, May 31 at 6:45pm.
There will be NO race day registration available.
VIRTUAL racing options are still available! Virtual Races will run from May 29th - June 18th with 5K & 10K race options available. (Note: virtual race times are not eligible for time-based awards. 15 Quay Challenge finisher medals are only given awarded to live race participants.)
Race shirts and finisher medals are included in all live and virtual races, if registration is completed before announced swag cutoffs. Swag deadlines are subject to change, based on supply chain availability, so register early to no miss out!
VIRTUAL runners may use the ItsYourRace mobile app to track, measure, and time your run. The app will notify you when you have completed your distance and prompt you to upload your time (and an optional selfie) into the online virtual race results. Alternatively you may track/time your run however you want, then go to the online Race Results, choose your virtual race distance, find your name, and click the "Update Time" button.

The Mission Behind Run The Quay
For many years, Run the Quay has been a staple of the Fuquay-Varina community event calendar. What many folks may not know is that RTQ is produced by the Fuquay-Varina Chamber of Commerce’s staff & a dedicated volunteer committee and, it is our organization’s largest annual fundraiser! This community event has grown exponentially in size and that growth has helped us continue our efforts in the growing community of Fuquay-Varina.
Our mission and vision are simple, but integral to the Fuquay-Varina business community:
Mission: To build and sustain a vibrant economy through a robust, public/private partnership focused on making Fuquay-Varina a great place to live and do business.
Vision: A sustainable, quality economic and business environment for Fuquay-Varina.
We want you to know that your participation in RTQ directly aids in the execution of our mission! Additionally, each year we conduct an application process and select a Charity Partner for our race. This Charity Partner receives a percentage of the proceeds raised. So, by registering for our race, not only are you supporting the Chamber and its mission, but you are also supporting our local nonprofit partner.
